Job summary

Universities of Wisconsin is seeking an Upward Bound Math & Science Advisor to support comprehensive pre-college services for STEM‑minded high school students. You will advise, coordinate activities, recruit participants, and collaborate with program staff to align with federal TRIO objectives.

The role involves curriculum development, workshops, and partnerships with schools and community organizations to promote college readiness and STEM exploration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, counseling, higher education administration, healthcare, STEM, or related fields.
• Experience working with low-income, first-generation, underrepresented, and/or educationally disadvantaged student populations.
• Experience providing academic advising, counseling, mentoring, or student support services.
• Experience designing and facilitating educational workshops and programming.

Responsibilities

• Develops and evaluates curriculum and programs and provides recommendations for improvement.
• Researches, develops, and facilitates pre-college program content and materials.
• Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the pre-college program.
• Leads the implementation of program policies and procedures through oversight of day-to-day activities for program staff and student and community volunteers.
• Provides support in identifying appropriate fields of study, career options, or programs and refers students to appropriate resources.
• Schedules, secures, and communicates logistics and resources in support of a pre-college program.
