Job summary

Teachers College, Columbia University is seeking a part-time STEM Program Manager to support an educational makerspace and a research lab. The role will oversee day-to-day lab operations, assist teaching and learning activities, and coordinate events and workshops while ensuring effective use of digital fabrication tools.

The ideal candidate has hands-on technical skills, experience with digital fabrication and prototyping technologies, and excellent organizational abilities.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise with digital fabrication tools and associated technologies, including 3D printing, 3D design, laser cutting, microcontrollers/physical computing, electronics, computer programming, and AI tools for design.
  • Experience supporting or teaching others in a makerspace, lab, or similar environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced academic setting.
  • Work outside of standard business hours is occasionally required.
  • May travel internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day lab operations in the makerspace and research lab.
  • Support teaching and learning activities within the programs.
  • Coordinate events and workshops for students, faculty, and visitors.
  • Ensure effective use of digital fabrication tools and prototyping technologies.
