Job summary

Ohio State University is seeking an Instructional Design Specialist for the STEM Gateway Learning Center. This in-person, five‑day‑per‑week role will design tutoring activities, develop discipline‑based tutoring curricula, and create workshops to support STEM students.

You will hire and supervise peer tutors, plan tutor training, and work with science and math faculty to ensure alignment with ASLC goals. Extensive record-keeping and impact assessment support are also required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, or Physics or equivalent education/experience.
• Two years of relevant experience.
• Strong communication skills and strong organization skills; excellent writing ability.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and plan tutoring and other academic support activities for STEM students.
• Hire and supervise peer tutors; plan weekly tutor meetings and training materials.
• Collaborate with science and mathematics faculty to align with ASLC goals.
• Maintain records of tutoring activities, student experiences, and program impact.
