Job summary

Snapology is seeking a part-time Instructor to teach STEM-based programs to children ages 2-14. You will lead groups of up to 24 students, promote creativity and teamwork, and collaborate with Snapology leadership to present a professional image to parents and children.

Responsibilities include delivering curriculum, monitoring behavior, preparing for each program, addressing parent inquiries, and encouraging enrollment in future programs. Prior teaching experience and clearances are required.

Qualifications

• Criminal and Child Clearances must be current.
• 2+ years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment.
• Education degree or teaching experience recommended; those pursuing education can be considered.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Proven ability to report to work regularly and promptly.

Responsibilities

• Lead groups of up to 24 students through curriculum-guided activities.
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
• Maintain discipline in accordance with Snapology's rules and disciplinary systems.
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum or watching training videos and/or attending training sessions.
• Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs.
• Encourage students and parents to enroll in future Snapology programs.
• Participate in periodic Snapology training and staff meetings as required.
