Job summary

Togetherhood is seeking an enthusiastic STEM instructor to teach after-school classes for K-12 students in Philadelphia. You will develop and deliver hands-on projects, lead engaging in-person sessions, and foster an inclusive classroom that supports students of varying abilities.

This contracted, supplemental 1099 role offers a materials budget and pay per class or per-student, with flexibility to adapt to partner schools' schedules.

What You'll Do

As a member of our network, you will be matched with opportunities to teach STEM (including but not limited to Science, Coding, Math, Robotics, Engineering, Video Games, Computer Animation, AI) to K-12 students at schools, buildings, and communities across Philadelphia. These teaching opportunities will be for terms that could last anywhere from 6 weeks to 18 weeks.

As an after school instructor, you'll have the following responsibilities:

Who You Are

A fun, enthusiastic, adaptable instructor, with experience teaching school age children, and who:

  • Has subject matter expertise in STEMHas a passion and skill for building hands‑on projects with kids
  • Has excitement, joy, and passion for both teaching kids and personal development/learning
  • Knows how to create a fun, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Brings your own voice and creativity to each class you teach

  • Is dependable, proactive, and thrives when given autonomy … and also appreciates support and clear expectations

$90 - $120 an hour

Teachers in the Togetherhood network are paid per class, either flat rate or per-student (determined by the partner school). This is contracted, supplemental 1099 work. There is a separate materials budget for teachers to use for classes requiring one.
