Job summary

Youth Programs at the Lakeland Hills YMCA is seeking a part-time STEM Instructor to lead hands-on coding and 3D design classes for ages 6–12 at the Mountain Lakes location. You will foster creativity, problem-solving, and confidence while delivering engaging, project-based lessons after school, Mon–Fri evenings.

The ideal candidate holds basic coding knowledge, strong classroom management, and is eager to learn 3D modeling tools. CPR/First Aid and background screening are required.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of basic coding concepts and educational coding platforms.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
  • Willingness to learn 3D modeling/design software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead beginner, intermediate, and advanced coding and 3D design classes.
  • Deliver project-based STEM lessons that are fun, engaging, and age-appropriate.
  • Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and classroom technology.
  • Track attendance and student progress.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Follow YMCA policies, safety procedures, and child protection guidelines.

STEM Instructor (Part-Time)Department: Youth ProgramsLocation: Lakeland Hills Family YMCA: 100 Fanny Rd, Mountain Lakes, NJ 07046Reports To: Assistant Camp & Youth Program DirectorStart Date (approx): September 14, 2026Preferred Hours: Mon - Fri: 4:30PM - 8:30 PMAbout the RoleThe YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic STEM Instructor to lead engaging, hands-on STEM enrichment classes for children ages 6–12.
