Mad Science of Long Island is looking for a STEM Instructor to inspire young minds through hands-on science workshops. This part-time role involves instructing kids in exciting experiments while fostering a love for science.

The ideal candidate is personable, has experience working with preschool to elementary-aged children, and must have their own transportation to carry equipment. Flexible hours are available, making it suitable for students or anyone seeking part-time work.

Qualifications

• Must have an outgoing, fun personality and be comfortable in front of kids.
• Previous teaching, daycare, camp, or tutoring experience is required.
• A personal vehicle is necessary to transport materials.

Responsibilities

• Instruct engaging and interactive workshops lasting 45 minutes to 1 hour.
• Timely pick up of teaching kits and set up for workshops.
• Bring energy, humor, and enthusiasm to the workshops.

Ignite the next generation of scientists as a STEM Instructor. In this role, you’ll bring jaw-dropping experiments to life and spark a lifelong curiosity in kids all over Long Island. Get ready to inspire young minds, lead hands‑on labs, and make learning an absolute blast!

When and Where

• Start Date: As soon as possible.
• Location: Servicing all of Nassau and Suffolk County (Material pick up is in East Meadow).
• Schedule: Part time – 2‑5 days a week from 7 AM – 11 AM, flexibility with hours available if desired.
• Pay: $50 per workshop.

What You Need

• Personable: An outgoing, fun personality and being comfortable in front of a crowd of kids.
• Preschool – Elementary Age Experience: teaching, daycare, camp, tutoring, etc. experience required.
• Transportation: Your own vehicle is required to transport medium sized bins on wheels (kits) to the location you will be instructing.

Job Duties

• Teaching: Instruct engaging and interactive 45 minute–1 hour long workshops.
• Organizing: Pick up your kit in a timely fashion, arrive to the workshop to set up appropriately, and be prepped to clean up properly when finished instructing.
• Enthuse: Show up with energy, humor, and silliness to bring the fun and love of science to the kids.
