Job summary

Kansas City Public Schools seeks a Project Lead the Way Teacher to advance the iSpark program, integrating coding, robotics, and hands‑on learning across classrooms.

You will plan lessons, model Design Thinking, and lead as an instructional technology leader within the school leadership team. The role requires collaboration with the principal and CTE director to ensure strong outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Missouri teaching certification or eligibility in Elementary Education and Early Childhood.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, staff, and parents.
  • Demonstrated success at integrating curriculum.
  • Demonstrated success in designing and maintaining a positive, collaborative culture.
  • Excellence in written communication.
  • Knowledge of effective use of technology in K‑6 classrooms.

Responsibilities

  • Plan lessons and instruct to grow STEM curriculum (coding, robotics, PBL).
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Design Thinking in elementary education.
  • Use Inquiry Process to create student-centered learning environments.
  • Provide one-on-one guidance for individualized design/tech projects with digital tools.
  • Serve as instructional technology leader and participate in school leadership team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure program outcomes are achieved.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and explore emergent pedagogical/tech trends.
  • Adapt to rapidly changing industry and research and model best practice.
