Job summary

Kansas City Public Schools is seeking a PLTW - App Creator Teacher at Lincoln Middle School in Kansas City, Missouri. The role focuses on iSpark standards, coding, design thinking, and project-based learning to prepare students for college and career readiness.

You will lead STEM activities, collaborate with the school leadership and Career and Technical Education staff, complete PLTW certification training, and support a dynamic, tech-forward classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a job-related area.
• Missouri Teacher's Certificate w/endorsement.
• Knowledge of G-Suite for Education.
• Project-based learning teaching experience.
• Master's Degree (preferred).
• Minimum of two (2) years teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan lessons and provide instruction for students in coding, problem/project based learning, and design process.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Design Thinking and inquiry-based learning in elementary education.
• Provide one-on-one guidance for student projects using digital creation tools.
• Lead as an instructional technology leader and be a member of the school leadership team.
• Collaborate with the Director of Career and Technical Education and Building Principal to maintain classroom tools and supplies.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with emergent trends and research.
• Be willing to research and experiment with new technologies.
• Complete PLTW certification training upon accepting the position.
