Job summary

Girlstart in Houston is seeking multiple After School Program Leaders (STEM CREW) to lead our hands-on, STEM-focused after school programs in Alief ISD, Lamar Consolidated ISD, and Spring Branch ISD. Programs meet weekly after school for 1-1.5 hours, serving 20-25 girls with opportunities to build confidence and explore STEM and future education.

Leaders receive training, report to the Houston Program Coordinator, and commit to 2 afternoons per week with a 3:00-4:00 pm schedule.

Qualifications

Experience working with kids preferred.
Desire to empower and educate girls in STEM.
Reliable transportation or valid driver’s license for at least 1 year.
Comfortable presenting to a group of girls.
Classroom management skills helpful.
Proficient using Google Drive apps.
Strong time management skills.
All majors welcome (STEM background not required).

Responsibilities

Lead after-school STEM activities for 4th-5th grade girls in Houston in designated ISDs.
Be available two afternoons per week; programs run 3:00–4:00 pm with each session lasting about 1–1.5 hours.
Prepare, drive to locations, lead the activity, and clean up after sessions.
Participate in mandatory ongoing training and attend weekly office hours at Girlstart's Houston office.
