Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated seeks a dynamic leader to head the cell Foundry, overseeing stem cell culture, directed differentiation to SC-islets, and collaborative workflows to support the Cell & Gene Therapy pipeline focused on Type-1 diabetes. You will manage a team of scientists and partner with R&D disciplines to accelerate discovery and development.

The role requires excellent communication, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced research

Qualifications

Ph.D. in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or related fields with 4–7 years post-doctoral experience.
Masters degree with 7+ years of relevant experience in molecular biology or related discipline.
Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience in molecular biology or related discipline.

Responsibilities

Lead the Cell Foundry team across T1D programs (stem cell, islet, immunology).
Innovate and automate stem cell expansion and directed differentiation workflows.
Manage project prioritization and communicate with leadership to meet IND-enabling goals.
Collaborate with stakeholders across R&D to coordinate experiments across cell types.
Present findings with summarized data in reports and presentations.
