The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking an employee for a research grant position focused on routine experimentation and maintenance of a basic biomedical laboratory. Responsibilities include stem cell maintenance, histology, immunohistochemistry, imaging, and biochemical assays to aid in modeling human colonic diseases.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology or life science preferred.
• Strong organizational, record keeping and interpersonal communication skills required.
• Experience with PCR, recombinant DNA work, western blotting, cell culture, histology/immunostaining and microscopy is desirable.
• Prior experience in lab management is preferred.
• Must be able to perform minimal mouse work; small animal surgery experience is a plus.

Mansioni

• Designing and planning routine experiments, including optimization of daily protocols and ordering reagents and lab supplies; maintain accurate records.
• Maintain human pluripotent stem cells and intestinal organoids, including passaging, differentiation and 3D cultures.
• Histology and immunohistochemistry: tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining and imaging.
• Molecular biology and biochemistry: DNA isolation, genotyping, real-time PCR, western blotting.
• Participate in drafting animal protocols and scientific manuscript preparation.
