Job summary

UC Irvine's CAMP Program Director will oversee planning, managing and evaluating the CAMP UCI program, supervising two program professionals and several student staff while coordinating with campus partners to meet yearly goals.

The role requires a STEM education background, 5–10 years in postsecondary settings, a BA and an advanced degree, plus strong budgeting, communications and partnership-building skills with UC campuses, industry partners and community organizations.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years experience in postsecondary STEM education
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Master’s degree or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of STEM in postsecondary contexts
  • Knowledge of higher education policies and issues
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills
  • Knowledge of UC/CSU/CC admissions and financial aid policies
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders including faculty, administrators and community partners
  • Experience with budget development and presentation
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience building educational partnerships with higher ed and community

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement year-round programs for CAMP at UCI
  • Develop and manage annual CAMP budgets and operating plans
  • Coordinate CAMP activities with UC faculty, industry partners and other campuses
  • Establish and maintain collaborations with schools, colleges and community organizations
  • Supervise CAMP Program Professionals and student staff
  • Assist evaluation teams in assessing CAMP UCI progress and impact
  • Represent the program to promote goodwill and public support
