Job summary

DSST Public Schools is seeking STEM Apprentice Teachers for the 2027-2028 school year. This 11-month program combines full-time apprenticeship with hands-on teaching and ongoing licensure coursework at MSU Denver.

You’ll shadow mentors, gain classroom experience, and work towards earning your teaching license while earning a competitive salary. Positions are in multiple campuses with in-person work, relocation support for eligible candidates, and potential extra pay via substitute teaching.

Qualifications

• Completed Bachelor’s Degree prior to start date.
• Passion for Math, Science, or STEM subjects.
• Enrollment in MSU Denver’s 1-year alternative licensure program.
• Commitment to education as a career and to stay with DSST for at least three years.

Responsibilities

• Shadow a Mentor Teacher and observe classrooms.
• Assist in student recruitment and run a small advisory group or tutoring as needed.
• Deliver instruction with mentorship support and receive regular feedback.
• Attend MSU Denver licensure coursework and pursue licensure during the program.
