Job summary

Kinsley Steel, Inc. in York, PA is seeking a Co-Op Welder to perform structural steel welding in our shop. You will read drawings, follow welding procedures, and help ensure safety, quality, and productivity in a hands-on environment.

Applicants must be enrolled in a PA technical co-op program and able to pass a 3G flux-core test. Overhead crane experience is a plus, with a strong willingness to learn and grow in the field.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an approved PA Technical School Co-Op Program.
• Must be able to pass a 3G weld test with 1/16 flux core wire and have applicable experience with D1.1 codes and 2G/3G experience.
• Experience operating overhead cranes.
• Willingness to learn and interpret fabrication drawings.

Job description

SUMMARY

The Co-Op Welder performs structural steel welding operations in accordance with approved welding procedures, shop drawings, and quality requirements. This position is responsible for producing consistent, high-quality welds while maintaining safety, productivity, and housekeeping standards.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform welding on structural steel components.
• Read and interpret basic fabrication drawings and weld symbols.
• Follow approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Complete fit-up verification prior to welding.
• Perform basic equipment setup and maintenance.
