Job summary

TIC_Craft is seeking an Intermediate-level Welder to plan, lay out, weld, install and repair structural steel per plans and codes. The role requires reading blueprints and welding symbols, and working outdoors in all weather plus overtime as needed.

You will operate welding machines and related tools, perform preheats, and complete repairs while adhering to safety rules and procedures. This position emphasizes practical, hands-on fabrication work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or equivalent field experience.
• Must demonstrate working knowledge and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and communicate with supervision.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools and layout tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up, troubleshoot and operate welding machines per job specs.
• Preheat and weld components per blueprints and welding procedures.
• Weld FCAW-S, FCAW-G, TGAW, GMAW, SMAW, and SAW processes.
• Operate air arc gouger, grinder, stress relieving equipment.
• Make welding repairs and address substandard welds.

Job description

Position Summary

Plan, lay-out, weld, install, and repair all types of structural steel products in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, welding codes and industry standards.

Experience Level

Intermediate

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Set-up, troubleshoot and operate welding machines according to job specifications and welding procedures
• Preheat and weld metal components as specified by blue prints, welding symbols, job specifications, or welding procedures.
• Weld various processes FCAW-S, FCAW-G, TGAW, GMAW, SMAW, and SAW
• Operate air arc gouger, grinder, stress relieving machine, and other industry machines, tools and equipment
• Make welding repairs and substandard welds

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently.

Requirements

• Able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must have all required tools
• Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft)
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
