Job summary

Contech is seeking a Steel Truss Bridge Design Engineer to join our team. You will design and analyze steel bridges, collaborating with in‑house engineers, CAD techs, and field teams to deliver projects for national clients.

This role emphasizes hands‑on design, quality control, and documentation, with occasional site visits. A Civil/Structural background and PE license are preferred, along with 6–10 years of bridge design experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Civil Engineering with Structural emphasis preferred.
• PE license with a minimum of 2-years of reviewing and sealing work.
• 6–10 years of experience in structural steel or bridge design.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and Excel required.
• Experience with AUTOCAD, finiteelement analysis, and/or structural analysis software preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong team and client relationships.
• High-level analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design services: provide project-specific design services with drawings and calculations.
• Structural analysis: perform analysis and design of bridge elements (superstructures, foundations, walls).
• Collaboration: work with in-house and outside engineers and CAD techs.
• Technical support: assist operations/manufacturing to ensure proper fabrication.
• Communication: coordinate with field staff and manufacturing; provide technical advice.
• Quality control: review designs and observe fabrication for adherence to drawings.
• Standards and training: maintain standards and help develop training materials.
• Documentation: develop technical papers and product literature.
