Job summary

Contech seeks a Steel Truss Bridge Design Engineer to join our team and provide structural design for national pedestrian and vehicular bridge projects. You will collaborate with in-house engineers, CAD Techs, and fabrication staff to develop practical solutions and ensure design accuracy.

The role requires a Civil Eng degree, a PE license, 6–10 years in structural steel/bridge design, and strong communication skills. Proficiency with AutoCAD and analysis software is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Civil with Structural emphasis.
• PE with a minimum of 2 years reviewing/sealing work.
• 6–10 years of experience in structural steel or bridge design.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain team/client relationships.
• High-level analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of MS Office and Excel; AutoCAD and analysis software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design Services: provide project-specific design services and drawings.
• Structural Analysis: analyze bridge elements including superstructures and foundations.
• Collaboration: work with in-house and external engineers and CAD Techs.
• Technical Support: assist Operations/Manufacturing with fabrication.
• Communication: coordinate with sales, field staff, and consultants.
• Quality Control: review others’ design work for accuracy.
• Documentation: write technical papers and literature.
• Specification Expertise: develop and modify product specifications.
• Professional Development: pursue ongoing certifications and training.
• Site Visits: travel to job sites for technical support.
