Job summary

Quanex is seeking a Steel Setup Operator for the 2nd shift in Chatsworth, IL. The role sets up all roll formers to run a quality product according to the setup chart and print, and requires forklift operation daily.

You will align line components, program AMS MP 350 and AMS XL controllers, load/unload coils, and perform routine quality checks while maintaining a safe, efficient workflow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret production prints.
• Able to use measuring instruments: calipers, micrometers, tape, square, protractor.
• Must work well with others and maintain safety.
• Mechanical ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up rolls using the setup chart and indicate rolls to run a quality product.
• Align line cutoff, knurlers, pre-press, post press, tru-cut, servo feeds.
• Program AMS MP 350’s and AMS XL controllers.
• Change pre-cut dies and operate hoist.
• Load and unload coils; thread machine; perform quality checks.
• Complete associated paperwork including daily job scrap reporting.

Quanex is looking for a Steel Setup Operator to join our 2nd Shift team located in Chatsworth IL. The Steel Setup Operator will play a key role in the set-up of all roll formers in the steel department to run a quality product according to the set-up chart & print. This position must operate a forklift.

Schedule

Monday- Friday: 3:00pm - 11:00pm.

• Must work well with others.


• Mechanical ability a plus.


• Must be able to lift, bend and kneel frequently.

The hourly wage for this position is $19.00/hr.
