Job summary

Agate Steel, Inc. is seeking a Steel Project Engineer in Scottsdale to coordinate projects, manage document control, track RFIs, and develop schedules and submittals with clients and 3rd party contractors.

The role provides technical shop support to improve fabrication efficiency. The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or 5+ years of steel fabrication experience, with GD&T knowledge and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required or 5 years steel fabrication experience
• Mechanical Engineering preferred
• Minimum 1 year of engineering experience desired
• GD&T knowledge and fabrication process understanding
• Proficiency with MS Office 365

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project staff to develop cost estimates for materials, labor, and time
• Coordinate detailing, fabrication, and erection schedules to meet client expectations
• Maintain logs for RFIs, drawings, submittals, and contact lists
• Assess vendor capabilities and resources
• Provide technical support to shop to optimize fabrication processes
• Contribute to cost reviews and align project costs with estimates
• Analyze equipment, systems, and processes to identify improvements
• Assist in preparing periodic progress and cost reports for leadership
