Job summary

Schuff Steel Co. is seeking a Project Coordinator to help manage the flow of technical information between the Project Management team, customers, subcontractors, and vendors.

You will work with detailing, shop and field teams, review drawings, coordinate sequencing, and support the project schedule, ensuring timely submittals and clear communication.

This role requires five years of related experience, strong drafting and Tekla knowledge, and willingness to travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret shop and design drawings.
• Experience with 3D modeling software Tekla and fabrication/erection standards.
• Knowledge of Tekla, Fabtrol, Primavera Scheduling, and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Review design drawings for accuracy and coordinate resolutions.
• Coordinate project sequencing and detailing setup, including advance bills and shop and erection drawings.
• Provide technical instructions to steel detailers in preparing shop drawings per project requirements and standards.
• Monitor submittals, approvals, and shop fabrication releases; identify delays or problems to PM team.
• Organize detailing RFI process through formal RFI to customer and informal RFIs with engineer/architect/GC.
• Distribute and route drawings with document control to avoid delays.
• Act as liaison between shop, field, and detailers to resolve fabrication and erection difficulties.
• Maintain daily communication with Project Manager, Sr. PM or VP on progress.
• Assist PM team in achieving successful project results.
• Coordinate detailing efforts of various subcontractors.
• Serve as direct link between Detailers, PMs, production, and customer/contractors.
