Job summary

Nexus Employment Solutions Plus, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator for a steel facility in Alsip, IL. The position covers 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts with a pay range of $19.00–$22.75 per hour and weekly pay.

Responsibilities include setting up and operating equipment, monitoring lines, performing inspections and changeovers, and ensuring product quality. Applicants should be able to lift up to 35 pounds, stand 8–10 hours, and work in a fast-paced GMP environment.

Qualifications

• Strong basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Able to lift up to 35 pounds for ~30 minutes at a time.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Verify codes are correct at the start of each shift.
• Monitor the production line and ensure all machines operate properly.
• Perform machine cleaning and inspections.
• Perform equipment setups and changeovers.
• Coordinate production operations for a line of 4–10 people.
• Maintain responsibility for product quality.
• Coordinate training of line personnel.
• Ensure the quality of packaged products.
• Perform general light maintenance and troubleshoot machines and related equipment.
• Maintain a safe, high-quality work area.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
