Job summary

Extreme Steel, Inc. is a growing AISC-certified structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabricator and erector serving the DC, Virginia, and Maryland areas. We are looking for motivated, dependable individuals to join our team as Painter.

Primary duties include reading blueprints, cleaning metal surfaces, applying primers and coatings per manufacturer data sheets, and maintaining a safe, orderly workspace. Day shift hours are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with compensation based on experience.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints.
• At least three years of experience in the paint industry.
• Clean metal surfaces to industry standard prior to coating application.
• Apply primer to fabricated steel.
• Understand proper environmental conditions for coating applications.
• Apply coatings per manufacturer’s Product Data Sheets and to proper mil.
• Maintain a neat and orderly environment.
• Proper use of PPE and safe handling of paint and other hazardous material.
• Metal painting experience and knowledge of SSPC standards/specs required.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints.
• Prepare surfaces and apply primers to fabricated steel.
• Apply coatings according to product data sheets and specified mils.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and proper PPE usage.
• Adhere to SSPC standards and environmental conditions.
