Job summary

Phoenix Global in Ghent, KY is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate front loaders in a steel mill setting. You will perform pre-shift inspections, coordinate with pot carriers, and support quenching and digging activities while upholding strict safety standards.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and willingness to work in a steel mill. Experience in manufacturing is preferred but not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including loaders, haul trucks, and skid loaders on site.
• Load, extract, and transport materials including molten steel.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance; refer defects to supervisor.
• Coordinate with pot carriers to control dumping and oversee the quenching pit process.
• Follow safety protocols and wear required PPE; maintain cleanliness and property protection.
• Maintain all required certifications per OSHA and safety programs.
• Support and improve overall team operations as assigned.
