Job summary

Universal Stainless is seeking a Steel Mill Forge Operator (Glama Driver / Operator) for its North Jackson, OH facility. This full-time role involves rotating 12-hour shifts, operating and monitoring 4 VAR furnaces, and loading with a remote overhead crane.

Prior heavy industrial, overhead crane, and forklift experience is preferred. The position offers benefits including 401(k) matching, health and vision insurance, life insurance, paid time off, and profit sharing.

Qualifications

• Heavy Industrial experience required.
• Overhead crane operation experience required.
• Forklift operation experience required.
• Day and night shift availability required.

Responsibilities

• Operates and monitors 4 VAR furnaces.
• Safely loads furnace using remote overhead crane, documenting bar identification and all required information.
• Maintains accurate record keeping of all furnace activity and communicates information to co-workers.
• Monitors chart recorders for cycle adherence to recipe; identifies anomalies and notifies tech/maintenance/supervision.
• Safely unloads bars from furnace at end of cycle and cools bars per recipe using remote crane.
• Documents and adheres to designated cycle times; processes material per recipe.
• Records production data manually and in computerized system; resolves erroneous entries.
