Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc. is hiring a Steel Mill Forge Operator (Glama Driver / Operator) for North Jackson, OH. The role requires operating and monitoring furnaces, loading with a remote crane, and maintaining detailed production records.

Candidates should have heavy industrial and overhead crane experience, plus forklift proficiency. The job is full-time with 12-hour rotating shifts (days and nights, including weekends).

Qualifications

• Heavy industrial experience required (1 year).
• Overhead crane operation experience required (1 year).
• Forklift operation experience required (1 year).
• Day shift required.
• Night shift required.

Responsibilities

• Operates and monitors 4 VAR furnaces.
• Safely loads furnace using remote overhead crane, documenting bar identification and required information.
• Maintains accurate record keeping of all furnace activity.
• Monitors chart recorders for cycle adherence to recipe and communicates anomalies to Technology, Maintenance and Supervision.
• Safely unloads bars from furnace and cools as directed by recipe using remote overhead crane.
• Records production data manually and in the computerized system; identifies and rectifies erroneous entries.
• Uses tools and equipment such as IR thermometer, calipers, measuring sticks, tape measures, go/no-go tools, label printers, stacker crane, forklift and furnace controllers; welding as needed.
• All other duties as required.
