Job summary

ExacTech in Sturgeon Bay, WI is seeking a full-time Steel Grinder to operate grinding machines, finish parts, and meet blueprint specifications. The role supports 1st and 2nd shifts with defined hours and requires ability to stand, lift up to 50 pounds, and follow safety procedures.

You will inspect components for defects, maintain records of measurements, and perform minor machine adjustments. ExacTech offers benefits and opportunities for training and advancement in a year-round indoors

ExacTech is an indoor metal fabrication shop with a global customer base in large industries including maritime, construction, mining, energy and more. ExacTech is the primary supplier for Marine Travelift and Shuttlelift crane structures, providing steady, in-door work throughout the year.

ExacTech in Sturgeon Bay, WI is excited to be adding a full time Steel Grinders to our 1 st and 2 nd shift teams. As a Steel Grinder, you will operate grinding machines and equipment to shape, finish, and polish steel and metal components.

1 st shift: Monday-Thursday: 5:45AM-3:15PM; Friday: 6:45AM-10:45AM

2 nd shift: Monday-Thursday: 3:30PM-2:00AM

As our Steel Grinder, you will…

• Set up and prepare grinding machines for operation. You will then operate grinding machines to remove excess material, smooth surfaces, and achieve precise dimensions according to blueprints or specifications.
• Inspect steel and metal components for defects, imperfections, or irregularities before grinding.
• Maintain records of work completed, including measurements, specifications, and any issues encountered during the grinding process.
• Perform minor repairs or adjustments to keep machines in optimal working condition.
• Complete all other duties and responsibilities that are assigned.

We are looking for you to…

• Understand safety procedures and proper PPE usages.
• Be able to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Have the physical stamina to stand for extended periods of time and be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
