Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional structural steel design and detailing experience.
- Proficiency with Autodesk Advance Steel on complex structural projects.
- Ability to develop detailed 3D structural steel models and produce fabrication/shop/erection drawings.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3D structural steel models using Autodesk Advance Steel for heavy industrial facilities.
- Produce fabrication and shop drawings, erection drawings, assembly drawings, and construction drawings from Advance Steel models.
- Model and detail beams, columns, bracing, trusses, equipment supports, platforms, stairs, handrails, structural towers, pipe racks, conveyor galleries, and miscellaneous steel components.
- Create structural models that support process equipment (baghouses, cyclones, silos, hoppers, conveyors, dryers, ductwork).
- Develop and detail structural steel connections per engineering requirements.
- Interpret calculations, sketches, specs, and translate into accurate models and drawings.
- Design foundation layouts, anchor bolt plans, embed plans, and reinforced concrete details.
- Generate/verify bills of material and material quantities for procurement and fabrication.
- Apply welding symbols, bolted connections, fabrication practices, and erection requirements for constructable designs.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, piping, and field teams; perform clash detection.
- Review vendor drawings and incorporate equipment requirements.
- Support fabrication, construction, installation, and commissioning activities; resolve field fit-up issues.
- Perform quality-control reviews of models and drawings prior to release.
- Maintain accurate models, revisions, and project documentation.
