Job summary

AME Engineering in Dallas is seeking a Steel Detailer to develop fabrication-level information and 3D models using Tekla Structures or SDS/2. You will coordinate with multiple trades and create shop drawings for fabrication, contributing to a wide range of construction projects.

The ideal candidate has an Associate degree in CAD or related field and 1–3 years of steel detailing experience, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in CAD or related field.
  • 1–3 years of Steel Detailing experience in Commercial Industrial, Manufacturing, and similar project types.
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling software, such as Tekla Structures or SDS/2.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter, motivated with the ability to start and finish a project on time.
  • Ability to organize, plan and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.
  • Programming experience such as Visual Studio or Python is a plus, experience with APIs is also a plus.
  • Computer skills: 3D Modeling Software (Tekla, SDS/2, or similar), proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Continuing education through a combination of in-house and company-funded external training.

About You:

Do you have an excellent eye for detail? Do you love working with steel? Have you created 3D models in support of construction projects using Tekla Structures or other BIM software?If the answer is, “Yes!” then we have an opportunity that will excite you!

AME Engineering is currently looking or a highly motivated Steel Detailer, preferably with previous experience using Tekla Structures or SDS/2, to join our team based in our Dallas office. The Steel Detailer will be responsible for creating 3D models and developing fabrication-level information in support of a wide range of construction projects.

A Day in the Life:
