Job summary

EASTERN METAL WORKS, a Connecticut-based fabricator and erector of structural steel, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to guide large-scale projects from kickoff through delivery. You will build strong relationships with clients, manage schedules, review shop drawings, and coordinate with field and production teams to meet milestones.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in construction project management, strong communication and leadership skills, and a proven track record in steel

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction project management experience.
• GED or equivalent education.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Represent EMW with integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with our clients' project managers and superintendents.
• Develop and manage project schedules with EMW clients.
• Manage shop drawing submittals and approvals to meet schedule requirements.
• Coordinate with steel detailers and review shop drawings.
• Coordinate fabrication and delivery schedules with EMW Shop Production Manager.
• Coordinate with EMW purchasing manager to ensure materials are purchased to satisfy production requirements.
• Coordinate schedule and manpower requirements with the Field General.
• Review Foreman's Daily Reports with the EMW Field General.
• Review field production to date and evaluate against EMW projected progress.
• Review Daily Photos to ensure accurate reflection of EMW work.
• Regularly visit jobsites and attend subcontractor meetings.
• Encourage forward planning/projections.
• Review project cost reports.
• Prepare projected costs to complete and assess projected profitability.
• Coordinate with Accounting to ensure timely billing in accordance with job progress.
• Coordinate with Estimating to develop and submit change orders if/when necessary.
• Generate a Monthly Status Report for active projects and present to senior management.
