Job summary

Construction Worldwide is seeking a Project Manager for structural steel fabrication and erection on West Coast projects, including commercial, infrastructure, aviation, and high-rise work.

You will own project strategy, constructability, scheduling, cost management, fabrication, erection, and client relationships, guiding teams from pre-construction to closeout. Strong leadership and steel experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field OR 10+ years of relevant construction management experience.
• Proven experience managing structural steel fabrication and erection projects.
• Experience with complex commercial, infrastructure, aviation, stadium, high-rise, or similarly challenging projects.
• Strong understanding of AISC, AWS, and structural steel construction practices.
• Experience managing project budgets, forecasting, change orders, contracts, and financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural steel projects from pre-construction and contract award through fabrication, erection, and closeout.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and project execution plans.
• Monitor project financial performance, costs, changes, and risk.
• Identify potential issues early and develop practical solutions before they impact the project.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for general contractors, clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Build strong working relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead project meetings and coordinate communication between office and field teams.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering, detailing, fabrication, and erection teams.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements for constructability and potential issues.
• Participate in Design-Assist and pre-construction coordination.
• Help develop fabrication schedules and field erection sequencing.
• Coordinate procurement, subcontractors, deliveries, and field activities.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, safety, and coordination.
• Mentor Project Engineers and developing project professionals.
• Promote accountability, collaboration, and effective communication.
• Identify opportunities to improve project execution, productivity, and profitability.

Education
