EDUCATION: Two years of study at an institution of higher education with the ability to provide transcripts showing 48 completed semester credits or 72 completed quarter credits, an Associate’s (or higher) degree, OR a passing score on the Praxis exam.
GENERAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Under the direct supervision of a licensed district nurse, performs a variety of clinical and administrative duties to support the delivery of quality student care. Assists with student intake, obtains and documents vital signs and medical histories, administers medication, provides first aid, maintains and provides patient education within the scope of duties. Ensures medical rooms, equipment, and supplies are properly prepared, sanitized, and stocked while adhering to established protocols and infection control standards.
Must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be highly qualified. Two years of study at an institution of higher education with the ability to provide transcripts showing 48 completed semester credits or 72 completed quarter credits, an Associate’s (or higher) degree, OR a passing score on the Praxis exam.
Must demonstrate the physical ability to perform job-related tasks and comply with OSHA regulations, infection prevention and control standards, bloodborne pathogen protocols, and all applicable workplace safety requirements. Must be knowledgeable of hazardous materials and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and follow established procedures for handling and disposal. Responsibilities include maintaining student safety, protecting confidential health information, and supporting a safe clinical environment. This position is considered safety-sensitive.
