Qualifications

• Two years of higher education with transcripts showing 48 credits or 72 credits, or an Associate’s degree or higher, or Praxis passing score.
• Under supervision of a licensed district nurse, performs clinical and administrative duties to support student care.
• Follows OSHA, infection control, bloodborne pathogen protocols and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic first aid and routine health support to students under the nurse’s direction.
• Assist students with daily medical needs and administer medications per school policy.
• Monitor students with chronic conditions and observe for illness or injury.
• Maintain health records, medication logs and incident documentation.
• Support personal care needs while preserving dignity and privacy.
• Respond to medical emergencies following established procedures.
• Ensure medical equipment and supplies are clean, organized, and stocked.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to meet health and educational needs.
• Maintain confidentiality of student health information.
