Job summary

ProcessBarron is seeking a Steam Turbine Application Engineer (Estimator) to support steam turbine services growth by preparing accurate cost estimates and technical proposals. You will work with customers, sales, engineering, and field services to translate requirements into scoped work and competitive quotes.

This role requires a mechanical engineering background, 3+ years estimating or related experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Industrial Eng or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in estimating, engineering, PM, field services, or industrial ops.
• Experience with industrial, manufacturing, power generation, or rotating equipment projects.
• Strong ability to develop accurate cost estimates and technical proposals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for steam turbine repair, retrofit, overhaul, outage support, and installation projects.
• Review RFQs, turbine inspection reports, engineering data, and technical specifications.
• Develop project scopes of work based on customer requirements and field findings.
• Estimate labor, material, subcontractor services, tooling, equipment, and travel requirements.
• Coordinate with machining, fabrication, field services, procurement, and engineering personnel for costing.
• Develop customer proposals including scope, terms, schedules, assumptions, and exclusions.
• Ensure estimates align with pricing strategies and profitability objectives.
• Assist management in reviewing and approving proposals prior to submission.
