Job summary

Cross Plains in Wisconsin is seeking a STEAM Programs Lead to run summer enrichment programs for the Recreation Department. You will teach classes with an assistant, take attendance, communicate with caregivers, and manage materials.

The role runs 10–18 hours per week from mid-June to early August, with potential to combine duties with Senior Camp Counselor. Prior experience in education or recreation is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching and leading children in a safe and structured environment.
• Creative ideas and an interest in arts, crafts, building with LEGO/paper/cardboard, and other class subjects.
• Detail oriented, organized, and able to multi-task.
• Capable of carrying out assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable working with children across a wide range of ages and abilities, including children with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Teach program content and organize class structure to meet participants' needs.
• Be familiar with how to do activities in the curriculum.
• Explain/demonstrate skills, games, or techniques for a safe, fun, and successful experience.
• Take daily attendance.
• Transport equipment and other supplies to program site and return it after classes.
• Coordinate with Recreation Coordinator to ensure supplies and access to sites.
• Assign STEAM staff tasks as needed and manage small groups.
• Perform other related duties.
