Job summary

Villanova University is seeking an Assistant Engineer (Steam Plant) to oversee operation, maintenance, and service of boilers and related equipment to supply high pressure steam for campus facilities.

The role requires extensive high-pressure steam experience, adherence to NEC/OSHA standards, and the ability to work rotating shifts with a strong safety record. The position is based on the Villanova, PA campus with a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• High-pressure steam system operation experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics.
• Experience with electrical and control systems and NEC/OSHA awareness.
• Strong safety record and ability to work rotating shifts.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operates, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs high pressure steam systems and auxiliaries.
• Troubleshoots steam devices including electrical/mechanical components.
• Maintains and repairs DDC devices related to steam control.
• Ensures electrical and controls circuits comply with NEC/OSHA guidelines.
• Reads blueprints, sketches, schematics, and wiring diagrams to guide work.
• Performs brazing, soldering, pipe fitting, welding as required.
• Coordinates repairs with other trades affected by steam operations.
• Performs other duties within department responsibilities.
