Job summary

The Boys’ Club of New York Inc. is seeking a STEAM Lab Teacher to lead activities and projects in the STEAM Lab for upper elementary through early high school students. You’ll guide 8 to 12 members in hands-on 3-D printing, circuits, coding, and design, bringing BCNY curricula to life.

You will collaborate with the Education Director to evolve lessons, deliver engaging, project-based learning, and foster a positive, inclusive clubhouse environment that supports youth development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years college credits in STEAM or other relevant field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least one year of experience teaching STEAM-related programming to school-aged students in groups.
• Experience with Lego Mindstorms, robotics, 3-D printers, and printing applications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage STEAM lab for 8 to 12 boys or young men.
• Engage members in fun and relevant lessons based on established curriculum.
• Use provided curriculum or develop STEAM curriculum as needed to engage members.
• Work with the Education Director to update STEAM Lab activities, projects, and curricula.
• Reinforce positive student behavior and clubhouse rules; maintain a positive relationship with all members, families and staff.
• Communicate with Education Director to discuss member progress, needs, and concerns.
• Attend required department meetings and professional development trainings.
• Other duties as assigned.
