Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a STE(A)M Coordinator to support teachers in developing instructional materials and implementing STE(A)M approaches. The role centers on alignment of CCSS-Math and NGSS, providing professional learning, and coordinating community engagement for a whole-school STE(A)M approach.

The coordinator is housed in a STEM/STEAM school and is part of the STE(A)M Leadership Team. This is a 43.6 week role reporting to the Principal, with support from the Office of Teaching and

Qualifications

• Provides teachers with professional development and instructional coaching.
• Assesses teacher skill levels and work products related to STE(A)M instruction.
• Designs and leads differentiated professional learning sessions.
• Coordinates external PD and partnerships as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide teachers with professional development and instructional coaching.
• Assess the skill level and work products of teachers in STE(A)M priorities.
• Plan, design, and lead differentiated professional learning sessions.
• Coordinate external professional development opportunities for teachers.
• Participate in STE(A)M PLC focusing on sharing practices and data.
• Provide curriculum support and development for problem-based units and authentic technology integration.
• Foster community engagement and partnerships to promote STE(A)M awareness.
