Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) seeks a Manager of STEM Implementation & Supports to lead district-wide STEM programming and to coach school-based STEM coordinators and specialists.

The role requires a master’s degree in STEM or Education (preferred), a valid ISBE teaching certificate, and at least five years of STEM teaching experience plus three years in leadership. CPS emphasizes collaboration, continuous improvement, and equity in STEM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university.
• Master’s degree in STEM field, Education, or related field preferred.
• Valid teaching certificate issued by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) with appropriate grade level and content level endorsement, is required.
• Minimum five years of classroom teaching experience in a STEM-related field.
• Minimum three years of teacher leadership experience, leading school teams in curriculum and assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the STE(A)M Schools Support Specialists and school-based STEM Coordinators as instructional coaches.
• Develop and model effective coaching relationships and professional learning.
• Monitor and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in STEM/STEAM programs.
• Provide vision for district-wide STEM programming and manage a high-functioning team of STEAM Specialists.
• Coordinate ongoing professional learning for STEM Specialists, School Administrators, and Teachers.
