Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Steam Generator Field Service Technician to support headquarters preparations and field implementation of work on the primary side of the steam generator, including Eddy Current Testing (ECT), tube repair and vessel cover closure services at customer sites.

You will report to the Manager of Steam Generator Resources and be based at the Waltz Mill facility in Madison, PA. When not traveling you will be onsite five days per week, with travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Associates or Bachelor’s in electronics or technical field preferred.
• Some knowledge/experience with NDE or safety protocols is a plus.

About the role:

As a Steam Generator Field Service Technician, you will support Headquarter preparations and field implementation of work on the primary side of the steam generator (SG). This work includes Eddy Current Testing (ECT) of the steam generator tubing, tube repair, and vessel cover closure services performed at customer sites.

You will report to the Manager of Steam Generator Resources and will be based out of our Waltz Mill facility in Madison, PA. When not traveling you will be expected onsite 5 days per week. This position requires up to 50% travel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot steam generator field service equipment at customer sites, using but not limited to cleaning processes, NDE technology, robotic systems and computer networks. Perform Service Center support functions including service equipment maintenance and check out, equipment and facility decontamination, equipment packing and unpacking, shipment preparation, material handling and calibration activities.
• Perform all assigned tasks under general supervision, with a high degree of quality, and within the parameters of qualified procedures and guidelines.
• Document all quality related issues.
• Demonstrate good customer sensitivity and customer service skills.
• Maintain a focus on creative problem solving.
• Participate in performance-based training programs to acquire and maintain certifications and keep current with Technology.
• Participate in safety training to acquire the skills to perform work in hazardous environments and operate safety equipment and systems.
• Learn, understand, and practice Human Performance Tools, INPO Principals, Industrial Health & Safety, and ALARA principals, specific security requirements, and the importance of observing both Westinghouse and customer license requirements.
• Participation and contribution of observations in the shop. Acquire, comprehend, and apply Nuclear Culture Safety requirements.
• This position requires extensive travel (25-50%), maintenance of "Unescorted Access" status, and working with hazardous materials.

Who You Are:

• High school graduate or the recognized equivalent (Minimum). Prefer Associates Degree or Bachelor's in electronics or other technical field.
• Non-Destructive test experience desired but not required.
• Specific knowledge and training in electrical, electronic, or mechanical curriculum.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be $58,912.77 to $76,603.58 per year.
