Job summary

Prevailance, Inc. seeks a Steam Generation Propulsion Inspector (SGPI) SME to support CNSP through the Readiness Assistance Training Team (RATT). The SME delivers expert guidance on shipboard steam propulsion plants, generators, and control systems, enhancing crew proficiency and readiness.

Location is San Diego with extensive CONUS/OCONUS travel. Requires SECRET clearance, 15+ years supervision in watchstanding on steam main propulsion, and prior EOOW/Chief Engineer experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of supervisory watchstanding aboard warships or military auxiliaries with steam main propulsion.
• Experience as EOOW, Propulsion Plant Watch Officer, Chief Engineer, or equivalent responsible for propulsion plant operations and related systems.
• Direct operational and maintenance experience with US Navy steam propulsion and associated control/auxiliary systems in the last 5 years.

Overview

The Steam Generation Propulsion Inspector (SGPI) Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) supports Commander, Naval Surface Forces, Pacific Fleet (CNSP) as part of the Readiness Assistance Training Team (RATT). The RATT provides direct, Sailor-centric training and technical assistance to surface ships to improve technical proficiency, material condition, organic repair capability, and overall readiness.

The SGPI SME provides expert-level technical guidance and hands-on support for shipboard steam propulsion plants, steam turbine generators, control systems, and associated auxiliary equipment. Working directly with shipboard personnel, the SME helps strengthen technical knowledge, identify and troubleshoot propulsion system issues, improve operations and maintenance practices, and enhance overall material and operational readiness.

Location

San Diego, CA, with extensive travel in support of shipboard RATT visits throughout CONUS and OCONUS locations.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of supervisory-level watchstanding experience aboard warships or military auxiliaries with steam main propulsion
• Experience serving as an Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW), Propulsion Plant Watch Officer, Chief Engineer, or equivalent position responsible for overall propulsion plant operations and associated control and auxiliary systems
• Direct operational and maintenance experience within the last five years with U.S. Navy systems including:
  • Steam turbine main propulsion systems
  • Steam turbine generators
  • Associated control systems
  • Associated auxiliary systems
• Ability and willingness to support extensive CONUS and OCONUS travel for shipboard RATT visits

• Must possess and maintain a SECRET clearance
