Job summary

Prevailance, Inc. seeks a LCS/MCM Diesel Main Propulsion and Control Systems SME to support CNSP via the RATT program. You will provide expert guidance on diesel propulsion plants, generators, and control systems, working directly with shipboard personnel to improve readiness.

The role requires senior supervisory experience aboard warships, hands-on propulsion expertise, and willingness to travel extensively CONUS and OCONUS.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of supervisory-level watchstanding aboard warships or military auxiliaries with diesel propulsion.
• Experience as EOOW, Propulsion Plant Watch Officer, Chief Engineer, or equivalent overseeing propulsion and auxiliary systems.
• Recent operational and maintenance experience with US Navy diesel propulsion and related control systems.
• Willingness to travel CONUS and OCONUS for shipboard RATT visits.

Overview

The LCS / MCM Diesel Main Propulsion and Control Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) supports Commander, Naval Surface Forces, Pacific Fleet (CNSP) as part of the Readiness Assistance Training Team (RATT). The RATT provides direct, Sailor-centric training and technical assistance to surface ships to improve technical proficiency, material condition, organic capability, and overall readiness.

The LCS / MCM Diesel Main Propulsion and Control Systems SME provides expert-level technical guidance and hands-on support for diesel propulsion plants, generators, control systems, and associated auxiliary equipment. Working directly with shipboard personnel, the SME helps strengthen technical knowledge, troubleshoot propulsion and supporting-system issues, improve operations and maintenance practices, and enhance overall engineering readiness.

Location

San Diego, CA, with extensive travel in support of shipboard RATT visits throughout CONUS and OCONUS locations.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of supervisory-level watchstanding experience aboard warships or military auxiliaries with diesel engine main propulsion
• Experience serving as an Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW), Propulsion Plant Watch Officer, Chief Engineer, or equivalent position responsible for overall propulsion plant operations and associated auxiliary systems
• Direct operational and maintenance experience within the last five years with U.S. Navy systems including:
  • Diesel main propulsion systems
  • Diesel generators
  • Associated control systems
  • Associated auxiliary systems
• Ability and willingness to support extensive CONUS and OCONUS travel for shipboard RATT visits

Security Clearance

• Must possess and maintain a SECRET clearance
