Wareham Public Schools is seeking a STEAM Elementary Teacher (Long term substitute) for Wareham Elementary School in Massachusetts. The role runs from January 4, 2027 to March 19, 2027, providing hands-on, interdisciplinary STEAM instruction in a K-6 setting.

The ideal candidate will design and implement robust units, engage students through project-based learning, and collaborate with grade-level teachers and administration to advance the STEAM program.

Qualifications

• Active teaching license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Elementary Education and/or General Science, grades 1-6.
• CORI and fingerprinting completion or proof of fingerprinting from a previous public school system.

Responsibilities

• Develop daily and long-range units using an Understanding by Design template for each grade level, relating units to current curriculum.
• Implement varied teaching techniques to ensure student achievement and engagement.
• Coordinate STEAM curriculum with other disciplines and grade-level teachers to build interdisciplinary connections.
• Assess student interests and needs and incorporate findings into lesson and unit design.
• Communicate content with parents/guardians through newsletters or other information channels.
