The Bell Museum at the University of Minnesota seeks an in-person Camp Educator to run week-long camps for K-8, delivering STEAM curriculum and supervising assistants. Winter camp runs Dec 28-29 and 30-31 with prep days prior; summer camp offers 30–40 hours per week across 7–9 weeks with training time included.

You will follow safety guidelines, foster a positive learning environment, and collaborate with Youth & Family Programs staff to plan, conduct, and assess camp sessions.

Formación

• Two years of college study in education, science, or related subjects plus two years of youth teaching experience.
• Minimum two years leading children and carrying out curriculum in educational settings.
• Demonstrated understanding of basic science concepts, including astronomy and natural sciences.
• Experience working with persons from diverse backgrounds and learning styles.

Responsabilidades

• Implement week-long camps for up to twenty children per class using a curriculum with experiments and activities across earth science, astronomy, biology, chemistry, engineering, physics, art, games, and more.
• Follow safety guidelines and practices to ensure campers’ safety with ongoing supervision.
• Develop a personal teaching style to accommodate camper learning styles.
• Provide direction and collaborate with camp assistant educators.
• Interact with campers, guardians, staff, and the public in a safe, respectful, professional manner.
• Camp staff follow all safety-related policies at all times.
