Job summary

Gramercy Risk Management, a New York-based insurer services firm, is seeking a Statutory Accountant to join our expanding team. You will support monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial reporting, assist with statutory filings, and collaborate with auditors and actuaries to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

The role offers a hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH, and the compensation package includes a comprehensive benefits program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of accounting or financial reporting experience, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
• Experience with statutory accounting principles and GAAP financial reporting.
• Familiarity with insurance regulatory filings and statutory financial statements is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of the company’s monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual statutory financial statements and other required regulatory filings.
• Maintain and update reconciliation worksheets for key general ledger accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Collaborate with internal accounting and finance teams to support the financial close and reporting processes.
• Work with external auditors by providing required documentation, schedules, and supporting data to facilitate the completion of annual audits.
• Partner with internal and third‑party actuaries to support quarterly and annual reserve analysis and related reporting requirements.
• Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting activities.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory reporting requirements.

Gramercy Risk Management is seeking a Statutory Accountant to join our expanding company. This role will support the preparation of statutory and GAAP financial reporting, assist with regulatory filings, and collaborate with internal teams, auditors, and actuaries to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
