Siemens Energy in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Generator Final Assembler B to join our 3rd shift team. You will work on final assembly of generators, gaining hands-on experience with rotor-to-core assembly, bearings, pedestals and related components to ensure high quality power generation equipment.

You will use shop tools such as grinders, sanders, drills, ratchets, and wrenches, and must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Industrial-mechanical experience preferred (4+ years).
  • Ability to read, write and complete simple forms.
  • Must pass hearing and vision tests and obtain fork truck and crane licenses.

Responsibilities

  • Join the final assembly of generators including rotor-to-core assembly and related components.
  • Operate shop tools to complete tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lift and move materials up to 50 lbs as part of the assembly process.
  • Use precision measuring equipment to ensure quality standards.
  • Support documentation with basic forms and calculations.

Imagine mastering the intricacies of rotor to core assembly, bearings, pedestals, and all other components that come together to create efficient power generation systems. Your hands-on experience will be vital in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Attain skills in rotor to core assembly, bearings, pedestals, and all other generator components.
  • Utilize your proficiency with shop tools, including grinders, sanders, drills, ratchets, and wrenches, to select the optimal tool for each task.
  • Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs, contributing to the assembly process effectively.
  • Employ precision measuring equipment to ensure accuracy in your work.
  • Complete simple forms and perform basic math tasks to support assembly documentation.

What You Bring

  • A high school education or equivalent is required.
  • Ideally, you have 4 or more years of industrial-mechanical experience.
  • Proficiency with various shop tools and the ability to choose the right tool for the job.
  • Capability to lift/move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read, write, and complete simple forms, along with basic math skills.
  • Successful candidates must pass hearing and vision tests.
  • You must be able to obtain a fork truck and crane license.
