Job Summary

This position will provide statistical support as needed to Dr. Nora Lee for the Youth Access to Tobacco (Synar) project.

Essential Functions
  1. Collaborate with Louisiana Department of Health to clean and verify a list of licensed tobacco outlets. Conduct statistical sampling of tobacco outlets in the state of Louisiana for annual Synar compliance checks.
  2. Provide formatted lists of sampled tobacco outlets by region for merchant education.
  3. Collaborate with Louisiana Department of Health to clean compliance check data. Conduct analyses on data from compliance checks using the SSES system as required by SAMHSA. Provide tables of results for Annual Synar Report, including retailer violation rates by region. Review draft Annual Synar Report for accuracy and completeness.
Required Qualifications
  1. Minimum of PhD or Doctorate in Biostatistics.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience with Synar SSES analysis system.

  1. Typically sitting at a desk/table.

Additional Information

This is a Part-Time per diem position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
