Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a skilled facilities technician to operate and maintain boilers, HVAC systems, and stationary equipment at mission-critical facilities in the Washington, DC area.

You will perform routine inspections, diagnose issues, and coordinate with engineering teams to ensure safe, reliable operation. The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 10+ years of facilities experience, and relevant licenses.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required with significant facilities maintenance experience.
  • Active Steam Engineer license suitable for District of Columbia qualifications.
  • Stationary Engineer licenses valid in Maryland or equivalent licenses.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and monitor boilers, HVAC, refrigeration, and related stationary equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections and respond to service calls and alarms.
  • Diagnose issues, troubleshoot, and implement effective solutions.
  • Document inspections, maintenance, and repairs in CMMS per standards.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Coordinate with teams for timely issue resolution.
  • Serve as first responder for equipment emergencies and safety procedures.
  • Pursue ongoing training on equipment trends and best practices.
