Job Description

This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week located at Lake Forest Hospital Health and Fitness Center. This is a 2nd shift position, Monday to Friday, 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm.

The Facilities Engineer II reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

  • Operate and maintain building mechanical systems and equipment, including high-pressure boilers, chillers, and medical air compressors, ensuring safety, efficiency, and reliability.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and assist in maintaining and repairing power plant equipment with minimal supervision; monitor engineering systems and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Operate high-pressure boilers, chillers, cooling towers, domestic hot water systems, generators, electrical switchgear, and energy management systems.
  • Perform safety checks, repairs, preventive maintenance, cleaning, and painting of equipment and piping.
  • Conduct chemical analyses and adjust chemical balances in systems, following safety protocols.
  • Respond to plant emergencies, service requests, and perform troubleshooting and documentation.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections per organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Operate facility equipment routinely and as needed, and assist contractors/vendors with repairs and maintenance.

Additional Functions

  • Coordinate audits, complete quality audits, and generate reports and scorecards.
  • Provide input on policies, track quality performance, and communicate audit results.
  • Assess staff development needs and collaborate on project planning and execution with Epic application teams.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five years of relevant building maintenance experience, including high-pressure steam boilers
  • Technical training in maintenance
  • Licensed Stationary Engineer
  • Experience with boilers, generators, or mechanical maintenance
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract
  • Physical demands: Ability to lift/carry up to 70 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds.

Preferred:

  • Hospital or military experience
  • One year of boiler maintenance training
