Job summary

Peralta Community College District's Oakland District Office seeks a Stationary Engineer (Internal Only) responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing building mechanical systems, including HVAC, boilers, electrical, plumbing, and related controls. This is a journey-level role supervised by the Assistant Chief Stationary Engineer.

The position offers an annual salary range of $78,926.88 to $100,208.16 and requires an active CA DMV license and Universal Technician Certificate; applicants

Qualifications

• Four years journey-level experience in repair/servicing heating and air conditioning equipment or completion of an approved Apprenticeship
• Must have a current CA DMV driver's license and be insurable under Peralta CCD's insurance policy
• Possession of Universal Technician Certificate as required by 40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F for certain engineer roles.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain boilers and HVAC systems.
• Inspect, repair, and service lighting, electrical and control systems.
• Read blueprints and maintain maintenance logs.
• Order parts under supervision and assist Chief Stationary Engineer.
• Respond to emergency maintenance calls and ensure safety standards.
